In a perfect world, they would match.ĭo check, as suggested, that you have the proper backlight options selected. And even if you pick a Standard Illuminate like D50, while that isn't a range of colors, it's a specific aim point, again differing packages can and often do produce differing results. Keep in mind that CCT defines a range of colors. This X-Rite one came out too warm though.ĭon't expect the same CCT value from differing packages and instruments to necessarily match! YMMV. I tried calibrated this screen with this X-Rite iDisplay Pro and it seems that white balance accuracy coming from this new unit is not very good compare to Spyder4Elite I previously own has better white balance accuracy. He was just testing for accuracy of monitor colours. It was spot on white balance like out of box monitor. < This reviewer test it with same device as I got but except he was using very expensive Calman software. While with Spyder4Elite is not too bad but it leaves contrast a bit too high imo and the green tinge (probably a touch of it, not noticeable enough) and white balance was near perfect. PS I did calibrate without adjusting white balance but still not satisfied with the result, perhaps looks a bit touch of cool side of white balance. I am still puzzled why it pick up different white balance reading compare to Spyder4Elite. I did buy X-Rite for reason due to faster calibration time, less waiting time, works well with Dispcal open source software and Argyll source. When I tried to calibrate that with X-Rite, it claim this screen white balance was 7700K but where as Spyder4Elite came very close to 6500K, was only a bit off by 6600K. But most reviewer says it still need further calibration sometimes. Because since I purchased this screen, it came with factory certification of monitor calibration report including all adjustment and white balance to factory setting. This X-Rite one came out too warm though.
